A short while ago I was contacted by a customer who had spotted on the website a Cornish Lugger I had built several years ago looking to buy the model. So I agreed to sell the model and carry out an upgrade to meet the customers’ requirements, this would include a deep clean of the entire model both inside and out (insides also detailed) the main thing was to change the current sail rig to include some new sails and also to colour them to match ones featured in a painting.
Once I had carried out all the necessary changes with various fittings etc the new sails were attached and fully rigged as required. The sails also had the Boats number applied for extra detailing along with the boats name on either side of the bow. With the new sails and rigging in place the final job was to add three figures to bring the model to life these included two deck hands and the skipper thus completing the upgrade.
The final job was to create a bespoke stand before returning the model to the customer.
Overall this upgrade/restoration was very satisfying to do knowing the model will be enjoyed for years to come.
